Nausea and vomiting in the first trimester are very common. Small, frequent meals; dry snacks before getting out of bed; ginger, lemon water, and avoiding strong smells can help. Most women improve by 12–14 weeks, but a minority need safe anti-nausea medicines under prescription.

When it is not “just morning sickness”

Hyperemesis gravidarum is severe vomiting with dehydration or weight loss — it needs clinic assessment, sometimes IV fluids, and monitoring of electrolytes. If you cannot keep fluids down for 12–24 hours or feel faint, contact our gynecology team rather than waiting.

We combine antenatal visits with the rest of the hospital’s services — so lab, specialist opinion, and admission are coordinated. Book through Contact or 94668-03877.
