Gallstones may stay silent for years or cause biliary colic — cramping right-upper abdominal pain after fatty meals. Inflammation (cholecystitis) can add fever and constant pain. Diagnosis uses ultrasound and blood tests; treatment of symptomatic gallstones is usually laparoscopic cholecystectomy (keyhole removal of the gallbladder).
Why keyhole surgery
Small incisions mean less pain, earlier walking, and shorter stay than open surgery in most cases. Our surgery team is led by an FMAS-trained laparoscopic surgeon; the same OT complex supports gynaecological laparoscopy when needed. NABH protocols cover antibiotic timing, DVT prevention, and discharge education.
