Laparoscopy (key-hole surgery) uses small cuts on the tummy and a camera to treat problems inside. Common operations at our general & laparoscopic surgery unit include gallbladder removal for stones, appendix in infection, and hernia repair, along with other procedures listed on the department page.
Advantages for many patients
- Less post-operative pain than a large open cut for comparable cases
- Often earlier mobilization and shorter hospital stay
- Cosmetically small scars
Not every patient is a candidate for laparoscopy; very advanced disease or certain safety issues may need an open approach. Your surgeon explains after full evaluation. Ultrasound, anaesthesia, and modern OTs on the same campus make coordinated care easier for Tohana and nearby areas.
